The Black Clover Path is a circular route around the Nyborg region. This 33.5 km trail takes you through coastal areas, charming villages, and the picturesque countryside surrounding Nyborg.

The Black Clover Path is well-suited for a bike ride - preferably on a mountain bike or for a runner looking for scenic trails. The trail takes you through the beautiful landscape on the south side of Nyborg Fjord, past an old fertility spring, St. Mads' Spring, and further past Denmark's third largest village church, Vindinge Church.

1. stop: The Black Clover Path - Holckenhavn Fjord
The first stop on the Black Clover Path is Holckenhavn Fjord, which was formed during the Ice Age. There are great opportunities for birdwatching here—and if you are very lucky, you might even spot an osprey.

A little south of the former restaurant Teglværksskoven, on the Black Clover Path, you will find an ancient burial mound. In 1890, a pavilion was built there for Frederick VIII while he was serving at the Garrison.

12. stop: The Black Clover Path - Knudshoved and Østerø Lake

13. stop: The Black Clover Path - Slipshavn
As Nyborg's original harbour dating back to 1446, Slipshavn – the 13th stop on the Black Clover Path (Den sorte Kløversti) – holds a diverse history that can still be traced in the unique landscape.
Practical Information
The tour starts at Vesterhavnen 3a, 5800 Nyborg and is signposted in a clockwise direction. You can get a physical brochure at the starting point of the tour. If you prefer an online map, you can find it here. The map will guide you around the tour and show you the exact location of the 13 aforementioned stops.
Note: The trail between points 7 and 10 passes through a wooded area and follows the coastline. You may need to push your bike on this section. An alternative route is the paved road through Teglværkskoven, which you can access after passing Strandvænget Park and the nature playground.
